Build a start-sit question

Include the season and week, league scoring, roster slots, candidate players, and risk preference. A player's season total alone does not resolve a weekly lineup choice.

  1. Check injuries and reporting dates with nfl_injuries. Use nfl_schedule to identify the game.
  2. Review season production with nfl_player_stats and weekly results with nfl_game_log.
  3. Add snap counts and, with Pro, target/carry share, role trends, and the appropriate weekly consensus rankings.
  4. Use Pro matchup analysis when the requested game and supporting data are covered. State fallback seasons, sample sizes, and uncertainty.
  5. Explain the tradeoff without promising points or submitting a lineup.

Separate opportunity from production

Targets, carries, air yards, and snap share describe a player's role. Touchdowns and fantasy points describe outcomes. Use both; one strong game does not establish a stable workload.

nfl_role_trend and nfl_heat help identify changing usage. nfl_td_luck compares touchdowns with expected results. These are analytical signals, not guarantees that a player will break out.

What Free and Pro cover

Free covers core player/team stats, comparisons, schedules, rosters, injuries, snaps, and play search. Pro adds game logs, fantasy opportunity and rankings, role trends, player dossiers, matchup analysis, and the other advanced tools. Check the tool reference for the exact minimum plan.

League platforms are not connected: NFL MCP does not read your private roster automatically, execute trades, or change lineup settings. Supply only the decision context needed for your question.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI guarantee the right fantasy lineup?

No. Use it to compare evidence and assumptions. Injuries, workload, game conditions, and scoring vary; explain uncertainty rather than promise a result.

Can NFL MCP set my lineup?

No. NFL MCP provides research tools, not fantasy-platform account actions. You make and submit the final decision in your league.
